Sightings from Harry Wheate 2/5/11 - Speckled Wood & Red Admiral - Downley Common

4/5/11 - Harlequin ladybird

Report from Pat Morris 3rd May Male and female Bullfinches on seed feeder. They do not
frequent the garden as often as they used to.

6th May Buttercups in Hughenden NT fields are in full bloom-a
carpet of yellow.

11th May Fox in garden at 8 am

17th May Common Blue butterfly in a field adjacent to
Haslemere Recreation Ground - Most unusual.

21st May Birdsong at its best in Common Wood, with Willow
Warbler, Blackcaps and Chaffinches

23rd May Nuthatch, Blue Tits,Great Tits and Coal Tits all
using the seed feeders at 8 pm, unusually late in the day, also Great
Spotted Woodpecker

25th May Dead young Starling on the garden seat on the
terrace. It had obviously flown into the window. Its body disappeared
later in the morning possibly taken by a Magpie.
Red Kite ruled out, because of number of feathers strewn on grass
