16/6/11 - Nuthatch & Song thrush

Otherwise the regular visitors are Great spotted woodpecker, Green woodpecker, Blue, Great, Coal & Long-tailed Tits (and young of the first three recently), Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Dunnock,
House sparrow, Blackbird, Jackdaw, Starling, Sparrowhawk, Robin, Wood pigeon, Collared dove

Red-legged partridge looking for something to eat in the front garden and a pair of mallard squatting on the roof ridge tiles.
21/06/11 - Small tortoiseshell
25/06/11 - a bat, don't know which and haven't seen as many this year. Also we usually see them at Wendy's in Shaftesbury St but again not many this year
26/06/11 - Sm tort, Meadow brown, Ringlet, Harlequin ladybirds, Song thrush and a Buzzard overhead
29/06/11 - Song thrush
30/06/11 - at Wendy's, Hedgehogs, 2 adults and a baby, first sighting for some years

Most unusual , generally only seen on rooftops
20/06/11 Wood mouse in bird feeder during evening
Seen again in the feeder a week later, but at lunch time
24/06/11 Rat in caged birdfeeder on lawn at lunchtime
In the garden again 3 days later during the morning while work was being done nearby
25/06/11 First Ringlets in Hazlemere Rec. The Large Skipper
still there, in the same area as at the beginning of the month

It seems to have been a very successful year for breeding whitethroats with several pairs and young seen around the Penn and Hazlemere area.

Several sightings of groups of 30+ swifts.
